Dave, I think you have correctly defined Triangulated Groups (TG) with your Method 1 or Method 2. A TG segment in a Test Taker defines a specific segment on one of the Test Takers 46 Chromsomes. Other Test Takers who share the same DNA segment (and are in the TG), will have their own TG on the same Chromosome (maybe a different side), almost always shifted some (it's very unusual for cousins to share exactly the same DNA segment from an Ancestor). Each of these TG segments is equivalent to phased DNA over the same region - in other words all of the tested SNPs will be the same.
